Euripides’ Cyclops

Odysseus is going back home from the city of Troy, after its capture by the Greeks, when a storm throws him on Sicilian seashores and more specifically in front of the cave where Cyclops Polyphymos was living. Because Cyclops has gone hunting, Odysseus asks the Satyrs to give him some food and offers them some wine in exchange. But Cyclops arrives and eats two fellows of Odysseus. Finally, Odysseus manages to get him drunk and then blinds him and so leaves with the rest of his fellows and the Satyrs.
