“Pandoum” Theatre was created in November 2002. As an independent group of artists they create theatre and street theatre performances, spectacles and happenings. With a strong need to research and expand this space and with faith that theatre language can communicate truly, simply and clearly, Pandoum theatre usually acts in non conventional theatre spaces while at the same time they develop parallel activities: organizing workshops on theatre and scenography, theatre seminars for children and adults, and hosting International and Greek masters. In Pandoum's vocabulary street theatre is inspiring as a way that affects the whole theatrical procedure, cultivating vigilance in the moment here and now in rehearsal, in performance, in society.
The slum-bitches in the dirty streets’ waltz
Wondering in rime! Questioning in loud beat! A performance like a concert! Four women on stage. The continuous flow of a voice sounding from the depths of their soul becomes a cry or a song on their lips depending on what there is to be said. Contemporary and classic words and texts of philosophers, poets, journalists and writers are mixing with their thoughts and rimes, expressed on a rhythm expanding from rap to traditional lament singing, from opera to punk music, creating the circumstances for a meeting of the heart. The slum-bitches talk and sing about today. The performance borrows elements from cabaret, political satirical theatre, variety, concerts, literature reading nights, meetings with friends even from nights around a fire at the beach... "Look at the seed and tell me what you see, do you see the seed or do you see the tree"
