Nikiforou Evangelia is an actress and a puppeteer. She has studied theater next to I. Martzopoulou and Ludwig Flatzen for 3 years and she has graduated the Theatrical Laboratory of the Municipality of Stavroupolis. She has attended the annual laboratories of construction and manipulation of a marionette with Stathis Markopoulos, mime and physical theater with Antonis Koutroubis, as well as others with Gennadi Bogdanov  (Meyerhold’s Biomechanics), Fabricio Montecchi,  Dimo Avdeliodi, Kosta Gerardo, Werner Muller, Rene Baker, Koldo Vio.. She has collaborated with the Municipal Theater Group of Stavroupolis in Thessaloniki, Omma Studio, the Puppet Group Andamapantahou, Teatro Osservatorio and she is a member of the street theater group HELIX. In 2004 together with Constantinos Zaimakis they created “Nevma Theater”, a group that represented Greece during the Tracing Roads Across program, at the Workcenter of G.Grotowski and T. Richards in Pontedera. She has participated in many festivals in Greece and abroad (Cyprus, Egypt, Ukraine, Italy).

Lemonia

White as snow, the flour is united with water, takes something from the warmth and the care that the human hands give to it and it is transformed into bread… Flour secured the vital bread for the family, while the foresight and art of every housewife created many of the supplementary foods. Lemonia is the story of an old lady who during the performance makes real bread puppets and remembers facts and people that have passed during her lifetime. She is a puppet that creates other puppets, and through this process she remembers, she laughs, she gets angry, she plays and she dreams… “Lemonia” is the working result of the laboratory of construction and manipulation of a marionette (AYUSAYA) and has participated at the Festival Internazionale Teatro di Figura at Pinerolo (June 2009).
