Boulouki – ( means “The Gaggle”) The theater group “Boulouki” was set up in 2009 by Alexandros Sigalos and Chrisros Sirmakezis in a search of a means of art expression and creativity, more specifically in an outdoors and public setting which offers the proximity of a performance in everyday life. Our attraction to “handmade” theater and our eagerness in the pursuit of the spontaneous action in the theater world was the basis for our undertaking. In this concept we are eager to make performances which marry theater with music, pantomime, dancing, clown, circus and visual art accompanied by classic literature and/or folk reading. Christos Sirmakezis is a graduate of the School of Drama (Faculty of Fine Arts) and works as an actor the last years taking part in theatre plays some of them street theatre. He also plays the accordion and has a lot of experience and training in modern dance and acrobatic skills. Alexandros Sigalos had studied classic guitar and vocals and works as a musician in different groups since 1995. He has also an educational background in Byzantine and traditional music and has a facility in playing wind instruments like flute and Turkish ney. The last years he takes part in theatre plays collaborating with the Theater Group “Theatre of a Shoe Upon The Tree”.
“Tin ehasa”- original title: “Je l’ ai perdue” by Jean Cocteau
At the begging an old rock song of Nicolas Asimos is played with accordion and flute. Then the performance begins with a funny pantomime which brings the audience in the atmosphere of the play while Nino Rotta’s music is heard as a music background till the end of the performance. Our hero is in love. He has just met a young girl in an amusement park but he already lost it. The drama of finding and loosing the object of his love going through funny adventures is unfolded in front of the audience eyes. The hero experiences to the extreme both the joy and the sorrow. The enthusiasm and the disappointment. The hope and the swizz. The young girl refuses to reveal even her name and as the time passes his suspenseful effort feels the audience with sympathy and laugh. During his adventure our hero is accompanied by the boy of the amusement park who is hovering around him, offering him company and comfort but is also a constant headache to him.
